Will Pei Yuan on a trail, in a grey T-shirt and cap

Hi, I’m Will.

I was born in Brooklyn and have lived in Tampa Bay since September 2022. I build for the web and mobile, and I took the long way here.

I studied mechanical engineering at NJIT, then spent my first years out of school as an engineer: designing HVAC and plumbing systems for the EPA in Edison, New Jersey, and working as an AutoCAD mechanical specialist at a small architecture firm in New York.

Then, around 2010, I took a three-year sabbatical to live as an artist. I was a b-boy (breakdancer), based in Manchester, UK, competing and performing across Europe with the crew Floor Riderz UK.

Then came a camera: 360° photo and video for Ricoh’s Theta, event and studio work for General Assembly’s tech bootcamps, corporate photo-booth events from New York to Los Angeles. I was freelancing as a web developer the whole time, and taking GA’s software bootcamp part-time myself. In 2016 I became a software engineer full-time.

AI Growth Engineer II at Articulate

I build the product experiences that help customers discover, try and get value from Articulate 360 — trial and upgrade flows, AI-assisted training creation, and in-product growth experiments — across Rise, Review and the Articulate 360 dashboard, from the UI down to the backend services. Experimentation runs through most of my career: before Articulate, I launched hundreds of A/B tests across verizonwireless.com.

On my own time

Websites and apps for artists, pickleball coaches and clubs, and small businesses — mostly here in the Bay. That includes MyPickleball, a tournament engine I built for the round robins I was already running. See the work or what I offer.

Working with me

Every project starts with a conversation about what you are building and who it is for. You work with me directly, from that first call to launch and after. What I build, for whom, and how pricing works is on the services page.

  • A discovery call to align on goals and scope
  • Design and build in short, reviewable steps
  • Launch, then support and refinements after
